I love teaching and learning! I am a life-long student, currently in the second year of medical school. Before this, I worked as a 5th grade teacher with Teach For India in Mumbai from 2011 to 2013. I taught state-level English, Math, and Science to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This experience was instrumental in helping me develop skills to 1) cater to a number of different learning styles 2) frame traditionally "boring" or "difficult" subjects in ways that would be approachable to students who were mostly below grade level. During graduate school, from 2013 to 2015 I was a private high school tutor for chemistry and biology for a student at Stuyvesant High School.

In addition to science and biostatistics, two things on which I spend the majority of my time, I am an avid reader of poetry and plays (I recently played the role of Caliban in a Columbia University production of "The Tempest"). I love dogs and hiking/kayaking (though the latter has been pretty difficult to make time for in med school!).
